In late 2006 we were approached by Paul Hird, an established Perth drummer. Paul left school earlier than most to follow his dream of becoming a full-time musician, proving his peers wrong by successfully making a living with his craft. However, Paul realised that there were only so many gigs he could do in a week, only so many new students he could train. His passion for teaching led him to us and together we're developing the Beatcourse concept. Although beatcourse is not the first video-based drum training course, our goals in its development are to create something that is one part school, two parts community. Free content will be given away on the site in the form of short 'featuredbeats' lessons, while our 'backbeats' section allows Paul to personally critique his member's newfound skill. At the same time, the 'backbeats' concept forms part of the viral marketing strategy for promoting the site. Paul also blogs regularly to keep constant, interesting content on the front page, which also helps build his Google PageRank. Check out beatcourse.com! Beatcourse.com is valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional and CSS 2. |
