We're excited to be completing work on Rob's blog , our first WordPress template. Until now we've used Joomla ! almost exclusively for any complex development, but for a site with such a strong blogging focus, we felt the need to employ the industry standard. WordPress in many ways is a far better system to develop for than Joomla!, but it depends on who's going to be administering the site and the site's focus. For anything other than a pure-blogging site, I'll probably continue to recommend Joomla! for its superior admin user-friendliness, despite some of its more esoteric code problems. For pure blogging, there's no beating WordPress' out of the box capabilities, particularly its commenting system, something severely lacking in Joomla! This site was a lot of fun to develop, edgy, interesting and again employing sIFR accessible flash text on most headings. |
